Step 1: Baking the Perfect Potato

Start with a large russet potato, known for its fluffy interior. Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C) and scrub the potato clean. Pierce it a few times with a fork to release steam, then coat it lightly with butter or oil and a sprinkle of sea salt. Place it directly on the oven rack and bake for about 50–60 minutes, until the skin is crisp and the inside is tender.

Step 2: Removing the Skin

Once baked, let the potato cool just enough to handle. Carefully peel away the skin, revealing the soft, steamy potato inside. The goal is to keep the potato intact so it can be sliced cleanly.

Step 3: Slicing for the Perfect Bite

Using a sharp knife, slice the baked potato lengthwise into two even halves. Each half is now ready to be placed onto a crispy, warm Baked Potato Chip for the ultimate eating experience.
